We believe our staff is the greatest, and once you come in and meet us, we think you will agree. Most all dentists in America are educated and competent, based on passing boards, graduating from credentialed dental schools, and passing licensing exams. They also need to be knowledgeable, skilled, compassionate, and practice with judgement and care. Experience also counts. And as a whole office, you will see that everyone at Basic Dental Care has years and years of dental experience.
Dr. Nathan Williams
Dr. Williams grew up locally in Boise Idaho and is a graduate of Boise High School, Boise State University and then went on to receive his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Indiana University School of Dentistry. Dr. Williams loves being a dentist and has been serving patients in the valley for the last 11 years. Together with his beautiful wife Melanie and their two daughters they love the all the outdoor activities the Boise valley has to offer. In his free-time he enjoys trail running, biking, and playing guitar.
Being a dentist allows him to combine both of his passions, art and science, to improve people's lives through better health and self-image. He understands that the dental chair can be a nervous experience for many people, and feels it is important to take the time necessary to make every appointment a personalized and comfortable experience.
Dr. Williams understands the importance of listening to patients in order to best deliver the treatment they need and desire. He genuinely enjoys working with patients to help them achieve beautiful and healthy smiles.
Dr. Rodney D. Brady
Dr. Brady has been a dentist here in Meridian for 35 years. He started Cherry Lane Dental in 1982 and sold that practice in 2000 when he went to the South Pacific to do some humanitarian dental work in Tonga. He opened this practice, Basic Dental Care, in 2004. Dr. Brady went to dental school at the University of Washington in Seattle. Before that, he went to BYU in Provo, Utah where he met his wife, Shelee, more than 40 years ago. He has done humanitarian dental projects in Mexico, Peru, Tonga and the Philippines. Over that many years and places, he has seen most every dental problem that exists!Dr. Brady has 5 children who are all married. Four of them went to Meridian High School, across the street from the dental office. The youngest one went to Mountain View. They all have jobs and live in their own homes. They are all done with college, and are raising families of their own. "My house, cars, practice, everything is already paid for, so you don't have to feel like you are putting my kids through college with your dental work!"One of Dr. Brady's hobbies is photography. Most of the pictures hanging on the walls in the office are his photographs. Dr. Brady would like to fish more and would like to take up golf, but work, church, and family seem to take up all of his time.
Diana was born and raised in Nampa Idaho and has been working in the dental field for almost 30 years. She is the first person you will meet as you walk in the door of our office. Diana also answers the phone when you call, answers a million questions a day, takes care of peoples' insurance, keeps track of appointments and takes your money when you are ready to leave.
She is a Certified Dental Assistant with expanded functions in Idaho and also spent many years working in an orthodontic office in Canada. When Diana is not at the office, she enjoys reading and listening to books, arts and crafts, baking, cake decorating, house flipping and remodeling, and working outside in her yard. She loves to travel (Paris is a favorite) and hang out with her adorable granddaughter.
This is Lisa Tompkins, who we trained as an assistant almost 20 years ago. She assisted Dr. Brady for many years (still does), but mostly works at the front desk now. She is one of the voices you will hear answer the phone when you call. She also helps with scheduling, insurance inquiries, and billing.Lisa was born and raised in Boise, but moved about 5 different times while growing up. She now lives in Meridian with her husband and 15 year old daughter who is busy with soccer. Lisa also has a 21 year old daughter who is married and lives in Logan Utah. No grand kids yet!She says "I love to work out and I teach fitness classes at Axiom Gym here in the Meridian and Boise area. I love anything that has to do with being outside, and I love to read, listen to audio books, and spend time with my family. I secretly love to write and draw although I don't say so too much, and I absolutely love the rain and thunder. I love working at Basic Dental here in Meridian and I look forward to seeing our patients everyday!"
Dental Hygienists and Assistants
Erica is a registered dental hygienist who grew up in Nampa! Erica started her dental career as a Dental Assistant in 2002, graduating from American Institute of Health Technology. She went on to complete a degree in dental hygiene in 2010 from Apollo College. Over the years Erica has enjoyed working with children and teens, and has never met one yet who did not instantly love her! One of her passions is educating patients of all ages on how to properly care for their teeth and gums.
Giving back to her community is very important to her, and she has spent many hours volunteering at the Boise Genesis Mission clinic, as well as working with Southwest District Health to provide preventive care and brushing instructions to children across Canyon County.
She has two sons, ages 20 and 15, 9 goats, 3 cats, a bunch of chickens and a stable full of horses, as well as a cowboy husband from Germany. ( He is actually from East Germany but left there as soon as he could so he could come to America and be a cowboy.
Mindy is one of our great hygienists. Her dental interest began in high school, where she volunteered at a local dental office in eastern Oregon where she grew up. She attended Oregon Institute of Technology and began working in dental hygiene in 1992. She received her Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene in 1993.
After graduation, she moved to Boise and started working in private practice with a general dentist. She loves the variety of patients in general dentistry, but has a tender heart for oral care of elderly patients. While living in Boise she met her husband, Curt. They have raised 3 children (now 30,27 and 20) in their southwest Boise home.
When she isn’t at work she loves to spend time with her family, read a good book, catch a yoga class and enjoy a quality piece of chocolate! She is currently working on some training for long term facility/oral care for elders. She is also looking forward to the possibility of using her skills on a dental mission trip in the future.
This is Lori, one of our very experienced assistants. She did her dental training at Boise State, then Idaho State and was hired by Dr. Brady as an assistant in 1989. She took a break for a few years to raise her one and only daughter.
She is a great dental assistant and can do everything in the office. You would be fortunate to have her working with one of the doctors on your teeth. When she is not here at the office, she enjoys dancing west coast swing, mountain biking and lifting weights in the gym; really anything to stay fit.
She says "I have a wonderful and full life today. I look forward to meeting you and working with you, Dr. Brady and Dr. Williams on your great smile."
Alicia, who worked here a few years ago, has recently rejoined our dental team. She brings a wealth of experience from her many years of dental assisting. Alicia loves helping people reach their goals of looking better and feeling better.
She also enjoys working with great doctors who care about their patients. She is the proud mother of 3 great kids and loves spending time with her family. If you need help communicating in Spanish, ask for Alicia because she speaks Spanish fluently.
